WELCOME TO ADEGÃO

Known for offering classic Portuguese dishes, the restaurant seeks to bring innovative flavors and experiences to Rio without giving up its tradition, preserving its history in every detail, without stopping in time.

The headquarters, opened in April 1964 in the Imperial neighborhood of São Cristóvão, immediately gained a loyal clientele, attracted by the delicious recipes.

Fruit of the dream of four immigrant friends, Manuel Barcia Riveiro, Francisco Iglesias Alonso, Zeferino Riveiro and De Franco Mário Rafaelle, Adegão Português was created to offer the traditional gastronomic atmosphere of Terrinha to the wonderful city, respecting the abundance of portions and the quality of the ingredients .

In 2005, Adegão Português took all this tradition to the modern Barra da Tijuca without changing the philosophy that guarantees success.

From the start, the unmissable cod fritters already raise expectations for what comes next. The classics with cod are great options and are always very well served, but don't think that this is all the Portuguese lives for, as here you can try the best seafood dishes, fish and other renowned meats, such as duck, lamb, pork and top quality cattle.

From Monday to Friday, in addition to the hearty dishes for the family, there are executive options and individual portions with different prices, for that practical lunch, but without giving up the usual quality and flavors. You can also order suggestions of the day, always tasty and fresh, ideal for lunch with friends from work – Adegão establishes agreements with companies. The restaurant's aim is to combine innovation with tradition, using the best products, chosen by those who understand the subject, and, to this day, the excellent service and exclusive preparation of the dishes continue to make Adegão the best Portuguese restaurant in Rio de Janeiro.

Our Wine Cellar has a wide range of options from the Old to the New World, designed to bring the perfect pairing with your meal. Our sommeliers will be happy to recommend and serve the best house wines.

Finally, don't think about leaving Adegão without trying the delicious Portuguese desserts. They are mouth-watering.
